Beauty Expert Philadelphia Hair Salon"Politicians [and their spouses] are public figures, so they set trends, whether they like to or not. There are [Melania Trump] pussy bow blousesz everywhere. And when Michelle [Obama] wore mustard, everybody wanted it. Then there are the salon products that I have bought over the years that have backed good causes and helped people in need." -Dréa Richard

patricias palace ARS welcomes PR maven and social media gem Patricia Maristch to Expert Corner!

The @PiquedPR founder believes the world would be a better place with all things monogrammed and month long birthdays.
You might recognize Patricia from her work with @MLFashionWeek and other exciting events around town. She surrounds herself with color and mixed patterns, ginger jars and loves to play hostess.

Patricia visited the salon recently and saw Ryan - Senior Stylist. Here is what she had to say after!

I’ve kept my hair the same just about my whole life. Occasionally I’ll cut it shoulder length or get some highlights but it has never drastically changed. I figure if it works, why mess with it? Each season though I like a little refresh. You know, lighter for summer and darker for fall. To get my fall color on I stopped into Andre Richard Salon. It was my first time to the salon and it didn’t disappoint.

andre richard salon philadelphia inquier fall fashion event editorial

A few weeks back, the team and I collaborated with some amazing Philadelphia area retailers and the Philly Inquirer for a fall fashion spread. (You may have seen it.) It was an amazing day filled with fashion, art, and style — and we were honored (and thrilled) to be included among the styling team! ARS Stylist, Erin Gallagher styled the hair for the shoot and I worked on the makeup.

andre richard salon philadelphia inquier fall fashion event audience

Last night, the who's who of the Philadelphia fashion and retail scene — as well as ErinRachid, and I — came out for a special "Fall Fashion Event" at the Inquirer building in downtown Philadelphia. It was a panel discussion lead by famed Philly.com and Philadelphia Inquirer fashion journalist, Elizabeth Wellington. Along with me, the pannel was composed of Ellen Shepp (from Joan Shepp) and Ann Gitter (Owner of Knit Wit) representatives from Theory and Alica DiMichele

Each of the designers styled the model — Malika Miller — to show a look that best represented their brand's signature style: Ann Gitter worked the theme of the shoot (monochromatic styling) along side the recurring texture trend. Ellen Shepp showed the crowd how to do the athleisure trend right before offering a word of advice. "Play with your look and try different things" she advised the crowd, "And, if at the end [of the getting ready process] you don't feel good leaving your house... don't."

Known for their mastery of minimalism Theory showed off a look combining texture and monochromatic colors while the Alica DiMichele team showed off the art of sexy.

In the world of makeup... It's all about berry colors on the lips this season; warm, cool, and everything in between. I recommend layering up; you can't go wrong with an ombréed lip and don't be afraid to go bold — deep reds are in!

After receiving her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Brooke Lanier spent a year in Italy and later earned her Masters of Fine Arts degree in Painting fro the Tyler School of Art. She's roamed the world; showing her art in Rome, Prague, and across the United States; most notibly the Smithsonian Institute's S. Dillon Ripley Center and the John F. Kennedy Center in Washington D.C.

Her latest show, Going Away Without Moving opens on Thursday and is widely inspired by the artists own sense of adventure. "I took the title from an eight year old friend of mine" Lanier said, "He was going on vacation, but not going away. For me, it's an internal thing. You can go away without leaving where you are. The landscapes have contemplative meanings."

While the official number of pieces to be on display has yet to be finalized, the show's work has taken more than a year and a half to prepare and most of them are very large. "You're put in your place" she says, referring to the peripherally expansive pieces, "But, in a good way."

Thursday and Friday's "Going Away Without Moving" showcase is free and open to the public on the 4th Floor of the Camac Center — adjoining to the 12th Street Gym in Center City Philadelphia. (201 Camac Street, Philadelphia, PA 19107.) Light refreshments will be served with informal artist talks. Can't make the dates? Contact Brooke for a private showing.

Jumpsuits - whether toe-touching, strapless, or cap

sleeve rompers - are among the most versatile of

this spring's fashions.

Yet despite the slip-on appeal of the all-in-one, we tend to ascribe age limits and height requirements when it comes to deciding who can wear them.

"Jumpsuits aren't appropriate for women over ___ ," or "You need to be at least ___ to pull one off."

Nothing could be further from the truth.
